What lands in your mailbox
Every adventure is different. So is every envelope.
The letter is the heart of every adventure. Everything else is a keepsake inspired by where we went that month—something chosen to bring the story a little closer and give you a piece of the experience to keep.
You won’t know exactly what’s inside until it arrives. That’s part of the adventure.
The letter
Where we went, what it looked like, whom we met, or my personal story connected to the experience.
A keepsake tucked inside
A recipe card. A ticket stub. An illustrated storefront. Whatever the place gave me, you get a piece of it.
A card for the shelf
The 4x6 collectible for that month's adventure. Line up twelve and you've got a year of New York.
A hint about next month
One line. Not the answer, just enough to make you check the mailbox early.
A New York postmark
Mailed from New York, not a warehouse in another state. Proof it came from here.
Something I couldn't leave behind
Some months the city hands me one more thing. It goes in too.
You can't scroll past it. You have to open it.
The itinerary
I'm not telling you.
That's the whole point.
One month, it's a subway station that closed in 1945 and still has its chandeliers. The next, it's a deli that's been slicing the same pastrami since before your grandparents met. Then, a flea market in Brooklyn where the good stuff is gone by nine, a garden hidden behind a church, a bakery with a line down the block and a very good reason for it. A ferry at the one hour of the day when the light does something to the skyline, a parade you didn't know existed, a shop that's been on the same corner since 1927.
Something wonderfully ridiculous that could only exist here.
Not everything in New York makes the cut. Only what's worth telling someone about.
You'll have to open the envelope to find out.
How it works
Three stops, once a month.
I go.
From big events to small discoveries. The place everyone knows, or the one nobody's told you about.
I write.
I send a personal letter about our adventure. Then I pack each envelope by hand, keepsake included.
I send.
Mailed once a month, postmarked New York, in your mailbox a few days later. Nothing to download. Nothing to log into.

Who's writing to you
I'm Gotham Girl.
As a licensed New York City sightseeing guide, I know the stories hiding behind the landmarks, the forgotten details tucked along familiar streets, and the little bits of history that make you pause mid-step and think, "no one ever told me that."
And I've been sitting on a treasure trove of them.
The Adventures of Gotham Girl began in October 2026, a snail mail club that delivers a slice of the Big Apple straight to your mailbox.
Here's how it works: Each month, we'll explore a different piece of New York City together - historic sites, hidden gems, parades and pop-ups, festivals and flea markets, and everything that makes this city unique. Each letter will have a little keepsake tucked inside – a clue to where we've been.
I'm out in the city writing the next one. Stay close. New York City has countless stories - and I know exactly where to find them.
